Others might only have a difference in skin, eye or hair color that don’t work well in humans. He has six fingers on each hand (not to be confused with the man who kills Inigo Montoya’s father) and horns which he takes to sawing off most of the time (though it seems his hide better than Hellboy’s). ![]() Our man character, Augustine, really can’t blend. Not all of the fae are able to blend in with humans, but some more than others. There are many different kinds of fae and they are out in the open, so humans are aware of them. ![]() This series focuses more on the fae world, instead of the vampires. While I recommend trying the House of Comarre series, I don’t think it matters if you read this first, so jump on in. ![]() There is some character overlap, but no so much that you will miss anything. If you haven’t read that series, don’t fret, you won’t be lost in the slightest. It is set in the same New Orleans with the same world. This book is a slight spin-off of the House of Comarre series. When I saw it was going be on audio, I thought “Score!”. I read Kristen Painter’s House of Comarre series in its entirety last year and loved it. House of the Rising Sun was on my list as soon as I saw it. ![]()
